Afghan Women’s Sewing Class

The Afghan Women’s Sewing Class, a collaboration between the International Institute and Afghan Community Center, empowers Afghan women with sewing skills and business training. Participants learn basic and advanced techniques and take a two-hour business class to start their own ventures. One participant will receive a $15,000 grant to launch her business, with continued market support.

With seven sewing machines and fabric donated, this program helps Afghan women build financial independence and community. We look forward to sharing their success stories as they grow their skills and thrive.
